NCP MLA’s suspension revoked

Maharashtra Speaker Haribhau Bagde on Monday revoked the suspension of Nationalist Congress Party MLA Jitendra Awhad.

Mr. Awhad was suspended from the House for using “unparliamentary” words on Friday.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Girish Bapat initiated the proposal for revocation of Mr. Awhad’s suspension and informed the House that he had tendered an “apology.” Mr. Bagde put the proposal to voice vote and declared that Mr. Awhad could take part in the House proceedings.

Assurance

The NCP, which had threatened to boycott the ongoing winter session if his suspension was not revoked, joined the proceedings on Monday after an assurance from the government.
