Youth killed in accident

A 29-year-old youth died in an industrial accident taken place at one of the illegal iron-smelting units at Kanjikode near here on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased has been identified as Ranveer Maji, a manual labourer from Patna in Bihar.

Another employee was admitted to District Government Hospital with serious burn injuries.

The accident occurred when an explosion happened at the unit.

The deceased had suffered severe burn injuries.

The Department of Factories and Boilers has issued stop memo against the unit in the face of the accident.
