Warm welcome for President in Kottayam

President Prathibha Devisingh Patil who arrived here on the second leg of her three-day visit to the State was accorded a warm reception by district authorities. This is Ms. Patil’s second visit to the district in more than a year.

Ms. Patil, accompanied by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Revenue Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan who is the Minister-in-waiting, arrived at the Police Parade Grounds by special helicopter, at 11:50 am.

She was received by district panchayat president Radha V. Nair, district collector Mini Antony, district Superintendent of Police C. Rajagopal, Kottayam Municipal Chairman Sunny Kalloor, Thomas Chazhikadan, ex-MLA and Mathew Elappanickel, Vicar General of the Archeparchy of Kottayam.

The President, accompanied by Chief Minister and Minister-in-waiting, returned by helicopter at 1:10 p.m. to Kollam.
