Upper income limit of OBCs raised

A Cabinet meeting held here on Wednesday decided to raise the upper income limit for the Other Backward Classes (OBC) from ₹6 lakh to ₹8 lakh. The decision would come into force from the date of issuing the order.

The raw cashew procured from government plantations, farms, cooperative societies, and farmers would be given to the Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation and Capex. This is expected to solve the crisis in the cashew sector.

Rural jail

As much as 60 cents in possession of the Irrigation Department in Vadakara taluk will be given to the Prisons Department for setting up a district rural jail. The Irrigation Department would retain the possession right.
