Two killed in accidents

: Two persons were killed in different accidents in the district on Friday.

A lorry driver was hit by another lorry while he and his fellow driver were changing the tyre of the vehicle at Akalad, in the district.

The deceased was K.T. Thomas, 55, of Athirampuzha. His fellow driver Joseph Thomas, 48, has been admitted with critical injuries to the hospital. The lorry carrying onions from Pune to Pala got damaged at Akalad in the morning. Both drivers were changing the tyre of the lorry while a container lorry going from Madhya Pradesh to Kochi hit the lorry and the drivers.

In another accident, a 23-year-old youth was killed when a tanker lorry hit his motor bike at Kechery on Friday. The deceased was Abdul Nazar, of Pattambi. He was an employee of a car dealer shop.
