Trains to be blocked during general strike

In different parts of Alappuzha district

Trade union leaders have said train services will be blocked and protests carried out in different parts of the district in connection with the two-day general strike.

In a press statement here on Monday, they said that trains would be blocked at Cherthala, Alappuzha, Chengannur and Kayamkulam on Tuesday morning.

As part of the strike, protests will be held at Thuravoor, Cherthala, Kanjikuzhy, Alappuzha Town Square, Kacheri Junction at Ambalappuzha, Haripad KSRTC bus station, Kayamkulam railway station, Charummoodu Junction and Mankombu. The leaders, however, said that shops would not be forcibly closed in the district.
