Tie-up with IUML not on LDF agenda: Viswan

October 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - KOTTAYAM:

The issue of any kind of tie-up with the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) was not on the agenda of the LDF now, LDF convener Vaikom Viswan has said.

Participating in a meet-the-press programme organised here, Mr. Viswan said the IUML was part of the UDF and any discussion regarding a tie-up was out of place.

“The LDF has not made any change in its attitude to the IUML,” he said.

Reacting to a question, Mr. Viswan said the issue of who would lead the LDF in the coming Assembly polls had not been discussed at all. The LDF did not have such a practice, he pointed out.

He said SNDP Yogam chief Vellappally Natesan’s style was that of a profit-seeking trader. Mr. Natesan had not been able to give any satisfactory reply to the allegations raised against him, Mr. Viswan said.
