‘Thuhfathul Mujahideen united people of Malabar’

Historian K.K.N. Kurup said here on Tuesday that the Thuhfathul Mujahideen authored by Shaikh Zainuddin Makhdoom II had served as a binding force among the people of Malabar against foreign dominance. He was inaugurating a seminar on “Reinterpretation of Thuhfathul Mujahideen ” at Government College here.

The Department of History, Government College, and Malabar Institute for Research and Development, Vadakara, jointly organised the seminar. The 430th anniversary of Thuhfathul Mujahideen marked the seminar. Dr. Kurup said Zainuddin Makhdoom ventured on the history volume by imbibing Islamic ideals.

N.A.M. Abdul Khader, who translated Thuhfathul Mujahideen , presented a paper. College principal Geeta Nambiar presided.

Rajan Vattolipurakkal, head of the Department of History, senior faculty members P.K. Aboobacker, P. Khadeeja, Udaya Kumar, Prabhakaran V., and Hamza Thodengal spoke at the seminar.
