Hundreds of devotees are camping at the Sannidhanam for the annual Vishukkani darshan.
The Travancore Devaswom Board has made elaborate arrangements for the ‘Vishukkani’ darshan at the Ayyappa Temple.
The temple head priest (Melsanthi), V.N.Vasudevan Namboodiri, and his assistants prepared the ‘Vishukkani’ inside the sanctum sanctorum with fresh vegetables, flowers, ‘ashtamangalyom,’ on Sunday evening.
The sanctum sanctorum will be opened at 4 a.m. on Monday for the Vishukkani darshan to be held till 7 a.m.
As it being the custom, the Tantri, Kandararu Rajeevararu, and the Melsanthi will offer coins as ‘Vishukkaineettom’ to the devotees present at the temple sopanam.
Devotees believe that offering prayers at the Ayyappa Temple on Vishu day and receiving ‘Vishukkaineettom’ from the priests at Sannidhanam as a keepsake will bring good luck and fortunes to them in the year ahead.

The Ayyappa Temple will be closed after the Athazhapuja on April 19 evening marking the culmination of the annual Vishu festival.
