Thomas Unniyadan is new Government Chief Whip

Thomas Unniyadan, the Kerala Congress (M) legisaltor representing Irinjalakkuda constituency in Thrissur district, is to be the new Government Chief Whip.

Kerala Congress (M) chairman and Finance Minister K.M. Mani announced Mr. Unniyadan's name as the party's choice for the post at a news conference here a short while ago. Mr. Unniyadan would replace P.C. George, who had been removed from the post on Wednesday.

Mr. Unniyadan, who entered politics as a student activist, was born at Vaikom in on June 19, 1958. He had rose to become a president of the Kerala Youth Front, the youth wing of the KC(M) and the State general secretary of the KC(M).
