Mata Amritanandamayi will speak at the United Nations (UN) conference on technology and sustainable development on July 8. At the conference the Amrita university will present cutting-edge research done with collaborators from Oxford, Cambridge, Stanford, and other leading universities, to exemplify how emerging technologies can accelerate progress on the UN’s proposed Sustainable Development Goals. A statement from Amrita university said on Thursday that the conference was the first in a new series of events chaired by the UN’s Academic Impact (UNAI) group, under the acronym START (Skills and Technology Accelerating Rapid Transformation). The UNAI-START series is aimed at creating an opportunity for leading universities to present groundbreaking developments with scope for helping the UN to meet its development goals.
