An anticipatory bail petition was filed on Wednesday before the High Court by two teachers of a Kollam-based school in a case registered in connection with the suicide of a girl student.

The 15-year-old Class X student took her life by jumping off the third floor of the school.

The petition was filed by Sindhu Paul and Crescence Navis. They said that they feared that they would be arrested in the case.

The case had been registered against the teachers under Sections 305 (abetment of suicide of a child), 511 (attempting to commit offences punishable with imprisonment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under Section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act.
