The Tea Board, in association with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India and district administrations, is gearing up to adopt stringent measures to curb the production and marketing of adulterated tea at Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu and neighbouring districts, including Wayanad and Idukki districts.

The board has received information on availability and consumption of adulterated tea in certain places, especially in places of tourism importance, in Nilgiris, Wayanad and Idukki districts, board sources said. The public can inform the board authorities on the use of such adulterated tea on phone numbers 8486374193 (Kerala), 9659337133 and 8903172141 (Tamil Nadu).
