State reports 256 new cases

The number of active cases has dropped below 3,000

Kerala reported 256 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, when 11,016 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.

As on Monday, the active cases of COVID-19 in the State has dropped below 3,000 and at present, there are 2,502 patients with COVID-19 (active cases) in the State. A total of 378 persons were reported to have recovered from the disease on the day.

On Monday, the State added 56 pending COVID deaths to the official list of COVID fatalities. These are deaths that have now been accepted as COVID deaths by the government as per the new guidelines of the Centre and following the appeals filed by families.

In all, the official cumulative COVID-19 case fatality in the State rose to 68,130. Of these, 32, 309 (47.3 %) deaths were added after October 2021, following the death reconciliation exercise.

The State’s cumulative COVID-19 burden now stands at 65, 33, 998 cases.

Among districts, Ernakulam reported the highest number of new cases with 60 cases, Thiruvananthapuram 47, Kottayam 35, Kozhikode 29, Pathanamthitta 23, Kollam 14, Idukki 13, Thrissur 9, Palakkad 7, Alappuzha 6, Kannur 6, Malappuram 4, Wayanad 2, and Kasaragod 1 case.
