The former Indian pace bowler, S. Sreesanth, tied the knot with Bhuvaneswari Kumari of the Jaipur royal family at the Srikrishna temple in Guruvayur on Thursday.

Close relatives of the couple attended the wedding in the morning. Clad in traditional Kerala attire, Sreesanth and Bhuvaneswari Kumari — a jewellery designer — exchanged garlands of tulsi leaves. The ceremony lasted 15 minutes. The police had a tough time controlling people surging to have a glimpse of the couple, who were taken inside the temple nada after the ceremonies. The temple was crowded due to “Guruvayur Ekadasi” and the Sabarimala season.

Sreesanth’s parents, Santhakumaran Nair and Savithri Devi, his siblings, brother-in-law and singer Madhu Balakrishnan were among the relatives present. The couple left for Kothamangalam, Sreesanth’s ancestral home, after the wedding.
