About 60 tribal students from various tribal schools will be spending a day as guests of the State Legislative Assembly here in connection with the Commonwealth Day celebrations on Monday.
The first of its kind visit is being organised by the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training of the Legislature which will also arrange classes for the children in personality development and the working of the Legislature.
Speaker G. Karthikeyan will receive the children and address them. Deputy Speaker N. Sakthan and Legislature Secretary (in-charge) P. K. Muraleedhran will also interact with the students.
The Commonwealth Day is celebrated under the auspices of the London-based Commonwealth Parliamentary Association which organises various programmes on the Day in collaboration with legislative bodies across the world. The theme for this year’s celebrations is ‘Connecting Cultures’.
