Shocked at tahsildar’s behaviour, says Minister

October 02, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:48 am IST - Thrissur:

“My experiment to find out how revenue officials interact with the public was an eye-opener,” said Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash.

Based on a complaint that he had received from several people on delay in getting encumbrance certificates, the Minister said he had called up a tahsildar, pretending to be a commoner.

When the Minister asked the tahsildar about the government order that enabled easy issuance of encumbrance certificate, the tahsildar quipped that the government would issue several such orders, but who would bother about those.

The Minister narrated his experience at the district pattalaya mela held here on Thursday.
