Special Court judge S. Shajahan has posted the pronouncement of the verdict in two cases in the Vithura sex scandal for next week.

The verdict in the case with T.M. Mohammed Basheer as the main accused will be pronounced on Monday, December 30, and the case with T.M. Sasi as the main accused will be pronounced on Tuesday, December 31. The victim had turned hostile in both these cases. The court had declared the sentence only in one case so far — in which actor Jagathy Sreekumar was the accused. He was acquitted.

The second cluster of cases includes 15 separate cases out of which four are now before the court. The police had registered 23 separate cases in the sex scandal in which a minor girl was lured with promise of film roles and forced into commercial sex during a seven-month period from November 1995 to May 1996.
