Send Chief Secretary to Nelliampathy: Sudheeran

August 09, 2012 03:24 am | Updated 03:24 am IST - ALAPPUZHA:

Congress leader V.M. Sudheeran has demanded that a committee headed by the Chief Secretary be sent to Nelliampathy where the issue of government takeover of lease-expired and lease-violated forestland\estates is hotting up.

Talking to reporters here on Wednesday, Mr. Sudheeran said the Nelliampathy issue should not be made a political controversy. ‘‘It is the right of the Forest Department to take over lease-expired and lease-violated forestland\estates (in Nelliampathy). I am wondering how this became a controversy,’’ he said.
