Seminar on ‘green economy’ held

The Department of Management Studies at Mar Athanasios College for Advanced Studies, Thiruvalla (MCFAST) organised a one-day international conference on ‘Green economy and sustainable development’ on Thursday.

K.S. Chandrasekar, Head and Dean of the Institute of Management in Kerala (IMK), inaugurated the conference.

The day-long meet focused on green transition, environmental policies and sustainable development.

Cherain J.Kottayil, MACFAST principal, presided over the function.

Udith K.Jayasinghe Mudalige, Senior Professor of Department of Agribusiness Management at Wayamba University in Sri Lanka, delivered the keynote address.

Sanesh Varghese, deputy director of MACFAST; Varghese Abraham, academic administrator, Sudeep B.Chandramana, Head of the Department, and Asha Lakshmi, programme co-ordinator, also spoke.

The conference acted as a platform for academics, research scholars and students of various colleges to share their research related to green economy and sustainable development.

Best paper award

Suja Devi V. of Girideepam Business School won the best paper award in the category of academics and the best paper award for the student category was won by Akshay Unnithan and Amiya R.Nair of Saintgits College, Kottayam.
