A group of mediapersons gathered to report Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s interactive session with select invitees to discuss the development concerns of Kasaragod were told to leave the function venue on Saturday.

The function, arranged by the district unit of the Left Democratic Front at the Lions Club Hall at Melankot, to mark the second anniversary of the government, began at 11 a.m. The instruction came after the introductory remarks of Mr. Vijayan ahead of the session.

As Minister in charge of the district E.Chandrasekharan wound up his presidential address, he urged the mediapersons to leave the hall. As the mediapersons remained in their seat, CPI(M) district secretary M.V. Balakrishnan and area secretary and municipal chairman V.V. Rameshan told them to move out of the hall before commencing the session.

Efforts of the mediapersons to get the Chief Minister’s version went in vain as Mr. Vijayan, accompanied by security personnel, drove straight out of the meeting hall after the session concluded by 1 p.m.
