Scientists attend Geneva meet

Two scientists from Amrita University, Maneesha Sudheer and Rao R. Bhavani, participated in the launch of the UNISDR Science & Technology Partnership in Geneva. The conference was intended to develop a science and technology roadmap for the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction for 2015-2030. The framework aims at reduction of disaster risk and losses in lives, livelihoods and health and in the economic, physical, social, cultural and environmental assets of persons, businesses, communities and countries. Over 800 scientists and policy-makers shared their research in disaster management at the session, a statement issued here said. — Special Correspondent
