Discussion centred around deliverance of responsibilities

The Sangh Parivar organisations reviewed the electioneering in Kerala at a meeting held here on Thursday.

Besides senior RSS leaders from the State, conveners who were in charge of the poll campaign in the 20 constituencies attended the session, which focused on the organisational performances.

The meeting was held to primarily take stock of the organisational work. No assessments on possible seats that the BJP or its allies could win were carried out, said P. Gopalan Kutty, the Prantha Pracharak of RSS.

There was enough time left for poll assessments and such evaluations will be held at a different forum. The day's discussion centred around the deliverance of responsibilities that were assigned to various coordinators. It was reported that the coordinators performed well and discharged their duties, he said, while denying reports that appeared in a section of media that the BJP would win two seats in Kerala, he said.

Meanwhile, BJP leader K. Surendran said the CPI(M) was heading for a poll debacle and the party would have a tough time explaining the erosion of its vote base.

Mr. Surendran was in Kochi to attend the Sangh Parivar meeting.

Dismissing the reported assessment of the CPI(M) that the BJP had cross-voted in eight constituencies, Mr. Surendran said the BJP secured the votes of minority communities in the election.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will be responsible for the debacle that was awaiting the party, he said.
