Even as the State is focussed on the flood havoc, a row has erupted over Forest Minister K. Raju’s visit to Germany, reportedly forcing the State CPI leadership to ask him cut short his visit and return to the State immediately.

The Minister had gone to Germany to attend functions which had been finalised much before the rains caused such havoc.

Clarification

The Minister’s office clarified that he had gone to Germany before the situation took a tragic turn and that too after appropriate mechanism was created at his office to handle all issues connected with his department and constituency.

The Minister himself told TV channels on Friday evening that he was cutting short his visit and returning to the State.
