Revenue minister paid last respects to van accident victims

Revenue Minister, Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan paid last respects to the bodies of four persons who died when the van in which they were travelling in fell into a gorge at Vellikulam near Vagamaon on Tuesday morning, at Puthangadi junction in the district on Tuesday evening.

P. Thilothaman, MLA, district panchayat president, U. Pratibha Hari and district collector, Sourabh Jain also offered wreaths at the bodies kept for public at Puthangadi junction near Muhamma in the district.

The Minister and other dignitaries also visited the houses of the deceased.

The Minister said that the Government has sanctioned Rs 5,000 for families of the deceased and Rs 2,000 for treatment of those injured in the hospital as an immediate measure. The injured will be treated at Government’s expense. The next Cabinet will decide on sanctioning more aid, he added.
