Religiosity was not a solution for social problems as it would only complicate people’s knowledge about God, Rev. Reymond Simango Kumalo, evangelist from South Africa, has said.
Rev. Kumalo was delivering the keynote address at the 124th Maramon Convention at its traditional venue on the riverbed of Pampa at Maramon near Kozhencherry on Monday.
According to him, religiosity grows when people try to perceive God through a narrow-minded approach. They should strive to develop a broad-minded approach towards religion, he said.
Fr George Varghese translated the speech into Malayalam.
Thomas Mar Themotheus Episcopa and Abraham Mar Paulose Episcopa delivered the keynote address, later, in the afternoon. Rev John Tucker Mugabi, Archbishop of York, and Rev Daniel-Ho from Malaysia are the other key speakers at this year’s Maramon Convention.
