Probe sought against Vellappally

October 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:55 am IST - Palakkad:

CPI(M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Thursday said a thorough probe was needed into the charges including siphoning off funds from microfinance ventures allegedly by Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan.

He was addressing a party function at Manjalangal near Ottappalam. Mr. Kodiyeri also wondered why Mr. Natesan was not responding to the serious charges levelled by Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan against him. Mr. Kodiyeri said Mr. Natesan was pushing economically weaker women into debt traps by misusing the microfinance ventures. The CPI(M) leader also sought clarifications from Mr. Natesan for allegedly using bogus certificates to divert money.
