Plum postings for three Kerala cadre IAS officers


Formal ordershave beenissued by Centre

Three Kerala cadre IAS officers of the 1991 batch in the rank of Additional Secretary, on deputation to the Centre, have been given plum postings by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

Ganji Kamalavardhana Rao, who was the Principal Secretary, Public Works, before being empanelled as Additional Secretary at the Centre, has been posted as Chairman and Managing Director of the India Tourism Development Corporation.

Rachna Shah, who was serving as Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat , has been posted as Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat. Ms. Shah was the Additional Resident Commissioner, Kerala, in New Delhi before joining the Cabinet Secretariat in 2015.

Bandla Srinivas, who was serving as Joint Secretary, Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, has been posted as managing director, National Horticulture Board, Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare. Mr. Srinivas was the Principal Secretary, Higher Education, before proceeding on Central deputation.

Formal orders has been issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.


The three appointments figure among the 17 postings given to IAS officers of various cadres on deputation to the Centre. The ACC has also upgraded the post of nine IAS officers of the 1991 batch on being elevated to the rank of Additional Secretary.

With the posting of Mr. Rao as Chairman and Managing Director of the ITDC, two Kerala cadre officers are in the helm of affairs in India Tourism.

Suman Billa, a 1996 batch officer of Kerala cadre, is on deputation to the Centre as Joint Secretary, Tourism.

Mr. Rao has also served as Secretary, Tourism, before moving to Public Works.
