Stating that there were elements of mystery shrouding the death of Swami Saswathikananda in 2002, Communist Party of India (Marxist) leader Pinarayi Vijayan has said that the revelations by the spiritual leader that he was facing murder threat from someone were conveyed to his friend in Kannur.
The people of Kerala have a clear-cut idea about whom Saswathikananda had levelled the charges, Mr. Vijayan has said, without naming any one.
“The CPI(M) seeks a comprehensive probe by a special team to bring to book those involved in the alleged crime,” he told mediapersons at the Press Club here on Wednesday.
On the moves of Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan to float a new political party, Mr. Vijayan said the CPI(M) only opposed the idea to implement the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh agenda in the State.
The SNDP cadre should give introspect whether they should join the rally proposed by Mr. Natesan to appease the RSS as he is turning out to be a puppet in the hands of the ‘saffron brigade’.
'RSS patronage'
The RSS is trying to extend patronage to communal forces as it has been done in north India.
Sangh Parivar leaders like Praveen Togadia and Amit Shah wanted to turn Kerala into an experimental State to try and test their communal ideology, he alleged.
“Chief Minister Oommen Chandy is deftly facilitating the RSS-SNDP tie-up in the State, as he is keen on clinging to power and not bothered about the dangers posed to the State’s social fabric if the RSS is allowed to flourish,” Mr. Vijayan said.
