A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Wednesday orally observed that the police had introduced passes for those travelling to Sabarimala in vehicles to ensure their security and prevent those who may try to fish in troubled waters from reaching the hill shrine.
The Bench of Justice P.R. Ramachandra Menon and Justice N. Anilkumar made the oral remarks when a writ petition filed by M.S. Anilkumar, a travel operator, against the requirement of obtaining the police pass during the Mandalam-Makaravilakku festival came up for hearing.
The court posted the case for Thursday for hearing.
Views sought
In another case, the court sought the views of the government and the Travancore Devaswom Board in response to a writ petition filed by former TDB president Prayar Gopalakrishnan challenging the decisions of the TDB to impose a 48-hour time frame for completing darshan and appoint volunteers for crowd control.
