The 98th Central Travancore Orthodox Christian Convention will be held on the St. Stephen’s Cathedral premises at Makkamkunnu, near here, from January 23 to 29.
In a statement issued here on Thursday, Fr George Varghese, cathedral vicar, said that the annual religious convention was being held under the auspices of the Thumpamon diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Church.
Sr Mareena would inaugurate the women’s meet to be held at 2 p.m. on Friday. Youhanon Mar Diascorus Metropolitan would preside over the inaugural function at 1.30 p.m. Kuriakose Mar Cleemis Metropolitan would formally inaugurate the convention at 9 a.m. on Sunday. Mar Diascorus would inaugurate the children’s meet, later.
Catholicos of the East and Malankara Metropolitan Moran Mor Baselius Mar Thoma Paulose-II would deliver the benedictory speech at the evangelical meet to be held on January 27 forenoon. Mar Cleemis would preside over the meeting.
