NSS withdraws suit against daily

The Nair Service Society (NSS), which had filed a defamation case against the Indian Union Muslim League’s mouthpiece Chandrika daily, withdrew the case on Thursday following an unconditional apology rendered by the Chief Editor of the daily. The case pertains to an edit page article in the daily on June 2, 2013. On Wednesday, P.K.K. Bava, printer and publisher, and T.P. Cherooppa, Chief Editor, Chandrika , arrived at the NSS headquarters and the issue was settled out of court. Following this, Chandrika published an unconditional apology in Thursday’s issue.
