NSS to set up human resource centres

May 27, 2011 09:15 pm | Updated 09:15 pm IST - KOTTAYAM:

The Nair Service Society (NSS) will establish human resource centres across the State, NSS Human Resource Department secretary K.R. Rajan said in a statement here on Friday.

The move to establish such centres in 30 taluk unions is a sequel to the human resource awareness programmes organised in 59 taluk unions.

The centres will organise premarital counselling, career guidance sessions, personality and leadership development workshops, and health training. It will organise campaigns against the use of alcohol and drugs. The centres will also urge people to shun wrong customs, superstitions, and extravagance in life, the statement said.

‘Spark 2011,' a seminar, will be held for faculty members from taluk unions at the NSS headquarters in Perunna on May 28. NSS general secretary (in-charge) G. Sukumaran Nair will inaugurate the first get-together of faculty members and counsellors on the same day.

NSS Karayogam registrar K.N. Vishwanatha Pillai will preside over the event.

Mr. Rajan will read out the framework regarding the functioning of the centres.
