Attacks on offices and buildings of the Nair Service Society (NSS) continued in the district on Thursday.

The violence had started in the wake of Nair Service Society general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair's statements against Chief Minister V.S. Achuthanandan.

After NSS offices, including Karayogam buildings at Muhamma and surrounding areas, were targeted on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Karayogam building at Punnapra, the home village of Mr. Achuthanandan, was found damaged on Thursday morning.

Several posters, some of them attributed to the Democratic Youth Federation of India and some to the Aikya Vedi, were seen in several spots in the district. Mr. Nair's effigy was burnt in Ambalappuzha.

Earlier, Coir and Cooperation Minister G. Sudhakaran visited the Karayogam building at Punnapra. Stating that strict action should be taken against the culprits, Mr. Sudhakaran said he would ask Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan to ensure the protection of NSS offices and buildings.
