The second ticket counter at the Kasaragod railway station began functioning on Tuesday.
Inaugurating the counter, P. Karunakaran, MP, said the new facility would be a boon for the rail passengers at the district headquarters as it would ease congestion during peak hours. The opening of a round-the-clock additional counter had been a long-standing demand of rail passengers, he said. Palakkad Divisional Railway Manager Anand Prakash promised to erect a covered enclosure to help passengers reach the platform without getting wet during rain.
