The Kattakada Assembly constituency, which has grabbed headlines for its successful Jalasamruddhi initiative, will conduct feasibility studies for 17 new small-scale drinking water supply schemes.

A review meeting convened by I.B. Satheesh, MLA, on Thursday also decided to urgently complete six water supply projects begun last year. Technical sanction will be procured by July 10 for the Kulathummal canal small watershed development scheme, Meenapally canal watershed scheme and the construction of a weir on the Anthiyoorkonam canal.

There are also plans to convene a Water Parliament with students’ participation in August this year.
