Narendra Kumar, the lone suspect in the Kottayam Parampuzha triple murder case, who was arrested from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh, was brought to Anchalumoodu on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday as part of the evidence collection.

He had worked as a cleaner at a restaurant attached to the shopping mall there for about 20 days before arriving at Parampuzha. He left the job at the restaurant when reprimanded by the supervisor there. He was brought to the mall amidst heavy police security but without much publicity by a team led by Circle Inspector Saju Varghese. The procedure took about 30 minutes after which the police took him back to Kottayam.

He had been arrested on the charge of murdering three members of a family, Moolepparambil Lalasan, 71; his wife Prasanna Kumari, 54; and son Praveen Lal, 29. The police said it was murder for gain.
