Mock drill at airport

A full-scale emergency mock drill was conducted at the Cochin International Airport on Tuesday to test preparedness to handle any dangerous situation.

All agencies linked to the airport’s activities, local hospitals, police, fire and rescue personnel, Indian Navy and the district administration were involved in the exercise, said a CIAL press release on Wednesday.

Boeing 747 from Air India was named Alpha Delta Airline, which had nearly 300 passengers and four crew members. A message was received at 2 p. m. that fire broke out in the plane.

The message for emergency landing was conveyed and the full-scale mock drill for rescue operations commenced.
