Mobile voting unit on a demo drive

A mobile unit carrying the electronic voting machine intended for demonstration among voters is on a tour of the district. People are encouraged to have a first-hand experience of exercising their franchise on the electronic machine.

Several senior officials demonstrated the functioning of the machine at various locations on Friday and Saturday.

Process explained

The process is explained by playing a CD also.

Leaflets describing the process are also distributed.

The mobile unit has covered places such as Arattupuzha, Thrikkunnapuzha, Karthikapally, Muthukulam, Pallipad, Cheruthana, Veeyapuram, Mannar, Budhanoor, Ala, Puliyoor, and Mulakkuzha.

The programme will continue on Sunday too.

As part of the preparations for the poll, the district administration has released a district election plan.

Useful info

It contains information pertaining to local body elections, useful to officials as well as public.

The information includes the names of officials in charge of election work, names of sensitive booths, details of vehicles required for executing election duty, details on electronic voting machine and election schedule.

Rehearsal classes

Rehearsal classes for polling officials assigned duties in block panchayats and municipalities will commence on October 26, according to the district electoral officer.
