MLA opens artificial limb centre at District Hospital

The Government is committed to rehabilitate all the physically challenged persons in the State, said Mr K.Sivadasan Nair, MLA.

The MLA was inaugurating the Artificial Limb Centre at the District Hospital in Kozhencherry town on Sunday afternoon.

Once it is fully operational, the centre will be able to supply artificial limbs on demand. Those who have lost their limbs in accidents as well as the physically challenged persons would be benefitted with the centre, the MLA said.

The Artificial Limb Centre attached to the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre at the District Hospital is the fifth one of its kind in the whole State under the Health department.

District Panchayat president, Babu George, presided the inaugural function. Mr P.Venugopal, District Collector, delivered the keynote address.

P.Vijayamma, District Panchayat vice-president, Pazhakulam Madhu, Saji chacko, K.G.Anitha, R.Ajayakumar, District Panchayat members, Laila Divakar, District Medical Officer and G.Anilkumar, District Panchayat secretary, also spoke.
