The Haritha Keralam Mission, Wayanad, is gearing up to prepare a budget to utilise water scientifically after calculating the availability of water in each water source under the Minor Irrigation Department in different seasons.

During the first phase of the project, water scales would be set up in major water sources to assess the availability of water round the year, said B.K. Sudheer Kishan, district coordinator, Haritha Keralam Mission, here on Tuesday.

The mission has developed a mobile application, Haritha Drushti, to assess availability of water in each water source, Mr.Sudheer Kishan said.

The application would be utilised to measure water in the second phase, he said

A programme would be organised soon to train officials for the purpose, he added.
