Minor reshuffle in State bureaucracy

The Cabinet on Wednesday made a minor reshuffle in the bureaucracy with Vishwas Mehta, currently Kerala Resident Commissioner in Delhi, being inducted as Additional Chief Secretary, Planning and Economic Affairs, and member secretary of the State Planning Board.

Kerala Water Authority Managing Director Shynamol has been shifted as Additional Commissioner, Goods and Services Tax Department. B. Asok, Secretary, Local Self Government (Urban), has been shifted to the Parliamentary Affairs Department as Secretary.

Pathanamthitta Collector R. Girija will assume charge as Secretary, Local Self-Government (Urban). D. Balamurali, Joint Commissioner, GST Department, will take over as Pathanamthitta Collector.

Other decisions

The Cabinet sanctioned ₹3 lakh or the medical expenses, whichever is higher, to the family of Valsarajan who died in a freak accident at the Kadachira sub-registrar’s office in Kannur district.

The Cabinet also decided to hand over to the PSC appointment to the post of additional legal adviser in the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.
