Minister’s office denies clandestine shifting of furniture

May 01, 2011 07:05 pm | Updated 07:05 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

The Education Minister M. A. Baby’s office on Sunday refuted reports that furniture and other items were being moved out the Minister’s offices clandestinely.

The Minister’s office was only returning articles brought from other offices under the Education Department on a temporary basis. This had been given a twist by some quarters to mislead the media.

An official release from the Minister’s office said that the racks, cup boards and computer tables had been obtained from the office of the Continuing Education Kerala on a temporary basis for placing the files and computers. This had to be returned to the institution.

It also added that most of the computers and other accessories from the Secretariat, given for setting up the office of the Minister, had already been returned. A similar procedure was being followed in the case of items obtained from Continuing Education Kerala also.
