Minister holds talks on proposed cooperative law amendments

Matter to be brought up in the next Assembly session

Minister for Cooperation V.N. Vasavan on Sunday held talks with various government law officers on the proposal to amend the cooperative law.

The amendments will be brought up in the next Assembly session. The proposal has been mooted in view of the amendment to Banking Regulations Act by the Centre.

Advocate General K. Gopakakrishna Kurup, Director General of Prosecution T.A. Shaji, State Attorney N. Manoj Kumar, Special Legal Advisor to the Government K.K. Ravindranath, and Special Government Pleaders P.P. Thajudeen and T.B. Hood were present, according to a release.

Meanwhile, Minister for Industries P. Rajeeve urged the cooperative sector to make efforts to bring relief to people troubled by various issues.

He was inaugurating the Neethi supermarket opened under the aegis of the Kanjoor Cooperative Bank. He added that the various initiatives in the cooperative sector had helped raise the standard of living of people in the State.
