When veteran magician R.K. Malayath conducted his Mind Design mass hypnosis programme at EC Foundation Auditorium at Kakkoor in Kozhikode district the other day, it was a milestone in the field of mass motivation for students.
For Mr. Malayath, it was the 777th edition of his hugely popular Mind Design programme. And for the students who attended it, it was a rare experience of mass hypnosis through which they got themselves recharged with positive energy.
The magician from Nilambur, who has had several firsts in the field of magic in his credit, is solely focussing on his acclaimed Mind Design programme, through which he grabs the participants’ subconscious mind and addresses it cleverly in a positive style. Many people, including former Chief Secretary K. Jayakumar, have endorsed the effectiveness of Mr. Malayath’s programme.
“It has had a positive influence on the minds of the participants,” says Mr. Jayakumar in a video comment.
“We have given shape to this mass hypnosis programme with the objective of strengthening the participants’ self-confidence and channeling their minds to achieve their desired career aspirations in life,” said Mr. Malayath.
He smartly takes control of the young minds during the programme and sends them on a magical journey through conscious and subconscious states. He applies magical tricks also in between.
“But I don’t do magic for the magic. It’s only for addressing the subconscious minds,”he said. During each session, he proves the power of the young mind. In a semi-sleepy state, the students recount such tales as climbing Mount Everest, surfing the beaches of Hawaii, and travelling around the world on a bicycle. “Amazing, isn’t it?” he asks. Approved by the State government and promoted by the National Service Scheme (NSS), Mr. Malayath has won several global accolades for his Mind Design programme.
Golden jubilee
Last year he celebrated the golden jubilee of his magical career, a fete that no other magician claimed so far in the State. He honoured 25 magicians with golden jubilee awards, and also given an award to the best book with magic as its main theme. He also honoured technical assistants with special awards at his jubilee function.
It was his association with legendary magician Vazhakkunnam in the late 1960s that gave Mr. Malayath the confidence needed for embracing magic as a career. In the early 70s, he became the youngest magician in the State to conduct stage shows.
His passion to innovate and imbibe scientific theories helped Mr. Malayath to set up Mysteria in 1974, the first professional magic troupe in the State. “I could surprise the people of Kozhikode by riding motorcycle blindfolded along with my partner K.S. Manoj,” he reminisced.
Amazed by the potential of human mind, Mr. Malayath successfully ventured into mass and stage hypnosis, targeting the subconscious mind of his audience with the messages of positivity. Many schools and colleges have made use of this programme.
