Church asked to desist from following crowd culture

The 66th Malabar-Kunnamkulam Mar Thoma diocesan convention began at Chungathara near Nilambur on Sunday evening. Zacharias Mar Aprem, head of Adoor-Kadambanad diocese of the Orthodox Church, inaugurated the eight-day convention popularly called the Malabar Maramon.

Rev. Zacharias called upon the Christian church not to go after the values of the crowd culture.

He asked the church to play a transforming role to lead the crowd to the values taught by Christ.

Thomas Mar Theethos, head of Malabar-Kunnamkulan diocese of Mar Thoma church, presided.

Diocesan secretary K.V. Cherian welcomed the gathering. Thousands of believers from Malabar stretching from Thrissur to Kasaragod are attending the residential convention.
