Malabar cement corruption: Sudheeran seeks CBI probe

May 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:56 am IST - Thrissur:

KPCC President V.M. Sudheeran demanded an investigation by special team of the CBI into the alleged corruption in Malabar cements and related issues.

Interacting with media persons at the DCC office here on Wednesday he said investigation should be done by officers with a clean track record.

“I am not asking the CBI investigation to make the issue a political controversy. It’s a social issue. I have spoken to the Chief Minister and the Home Minister in this regard. The investigation in the death of Sasheendran was not satisfactory. His family does not believe that he committed suicide. A truthful investigation will reveal the facts, he said.

When Thiruvanchur Radhakrishnan was home minister, he had recommended SCBI investigation into Malabar cement corruption case, Mr. Sudheeran recalled. He asked how the affidavit in favour of CBI investigation changed when it reached the court. There should be investigation into that too, he said.
