LDF will fight globalisation, says Pinarayi

Says govt implementing people’s alternative

The Left Democratic Front government is implementing a people’s alternative to resist and triumph over globalisation, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said.

In an article released here on Wednesday to mark the first anniversary of the government here on Wednesday, Mr. Vijayan said that the effects of globalisation were still prevailing and the government was trying to overcome it.

The people’s alternative would resist the RSS attempts to efface the hetrogenity of the country. An initiative has been made to increase the area of cultivated land through fallow land cultivation.

A ₹900 crore scheme has been launched to enable students pay off their education loans. The quality of primary and secondary education is being enhanced by enabling all high school and higher secondary classrooms with IT gadgets. Free uniform is being provided to students using handloom cloth. The traditional industries sectors hit by demonetisation are being revived .

Within the first 100 days itself, 10,000 posts were reported to the Public Service Commission. The PSC has filled over 36,000 posts in the past one year. Simultaneously, around 3,500 new jobs have been created in various sectors.

Central PSUs have been revived. The urea plant of the Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore Limited has been revived. The Palakkad unit of Instrumentation Limited which the Central government had recently decided to shut down, is also being protected.

Cashew factories have been reopened and the plantation sector too is being revived. Infrastructure projects, particularly Kannur airport, Kochi metro, light metro linking Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode and Kochi water metro are some other milestones of development. National Highways too are being developed.
