The Left Democratic Front (LDF) will launch a State-level campaign from October 16 to 30 to explain its stance on the Supreme Court verdict that lifted the curbs on the entry of women to Sabarimala.

Briefing reporters about the decisions of the LDF State committee that met here on Thursday, convener A. Vijayaraghavan said that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan would address the first public meeting here on October 16, followed by meetings in Pathanamthitta and Kollam on October 23 and 24 respectively.

This would be followed by such sessions attended by front leaders all over the State at district headquarters and at all Assembly segments. Family get-togethers too have been planned at the micro level to explain the government stance, he said.

Mr. Vijayaraghavan said the BJP, RSS and United Democratic Front (UDF) were using the believers to run their vested interests.

The Congress had asked its workers to join the BJP protest without using its flags.

It had failed to gauge the national situation and had chosen to ignore the danger involved in such steps being made for political gains, he said.

The intention was to upset the government, defame Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other Ministers. Though the agitators were aiming to revive memories of the liberation struggle and launch its second edition, it would not bear fruit.
