LDF finalises seats in Kasaragod

The LDF has completed its seat-sharing process for the crucial 17-division district panchayat. The CPI(M) would contest the polls in 11 wards.

The CPI would get three, Indian National League (INL) two, and LDF-supported independent Sherly Sebastian will fight at the Chittarikkal division, a traditional UDF stronghold.

The CPI(M) has declared its candidates in eight divisions: Periye, Cheruvathur, Pilicode, Karindalam, Madikkai, Delampady, Puthige and Kumbla.

Nominees

The nominees for the three divisions of Manjeswaram, Kallar and Chengala will be announced by Tuesday, CPI(M) district secretary K. P. Satheeshchandran said.

The CPI has named former MLA, M. Narayanan for the Left stronghold of Bedakam and Sanoj Kadakam for Edaneer.

The party would finalise its nominee for Vorkkadi by Tuesday, CPI district secretary Govindan Palllikkappil said.

The INL is in the process of finalising its nominees for the district panchayat divisions.
